RE: reformism vs revolution.
Quote:Americans don't understand a damn thing about finance, economics, politics, and society. America has a large share of some of the worlds smartest people in many fields. What are you talking about? How are the people of America any less intelligent or less "ready" for change than people from the UK or China or Brazil? This is the kind of argument that gets espoused all the time by aristocrat's, capitalists and marxists that the masses are just not capable of ruling themselves, they are an ignorant mob who need to be herded like catle for we are the benevolent masters who hold the knowledge of society. Thats basicly what you are saying. It's also disrespectful history as well, as there have been times of great coperation between working people to achive important goals. RE: reformism vs revolution.
So you believe the capitalist bankers and financial genius's would help a revolutionary group educate the masses about the intricacies of the system? I am not saying only America, I am using it as an example. If we just create an uprising when the majority of the people are ignorant on how thing work, how are we going to create a stable economy and a democracy if knowledge is only concentrated in the hands of a few?

RE: reformism vs revolution.
There are plenty of what you call ordinary people who are smart and do probibly understand the intricacies of the system (lol). Why people do nothing? Probibly down to apathy, or something else.
Either way, id say the american public is no more or less uneducated than the public in china or australia or whever. I am the Abraham Lincoln of the forum, I free the slaves. |

Like I said I used America as an example. An Example. An example. An example. This financial meltdown definately showcases the common mans great hold on ther financial situation and mangement.

RE: reformism vs revolution.
I definately don't understand the financial system. That is a job for mathematicians and physicists.
