Wikileaks: What side?
I've been posting a lot about it cause shit's interesting

But what do you all think? Like Sean pointed out, Lack of Israeli cables, and the shitstorm of the internet.

I mean, some of the US cables have been damming, but not much more than your average politicised person would already know. It's good for spreading information for those less inclined to read about it, but then, would they go out of their way to read it? Since the news stations typically associated with them, are all attacking Wikileaks as being treasonous.

(On a side note, that shit makes me laugh; the US want Assange tried for treason....He's Australian).

You think it's a bastion of freedom in speech? Is he doing it for the Lulz? Or is it a scam to cause your average joe to panic, allowing stricter censorship on the Internet to pass easily?

On top of that, after Amazon dropped Wikileaks from their servers, they're now profiting from their work:

That's a wtf moment for me?

RE: Wikileaks: What side?
Good point and just a word on that Amazon thing, it's says "tags from 1-5000"... that does not mean it has 5000 Leaked Cables, it means it has 5000 word tags... for all I know that could be just 1 Cable itself containing 5000 word tags, who knows.

But here's the thing:

So far only 1203 Cables have been released by WikiLeaks out of the total 251,287, which is only 0.47% released! So as there may seem not much on Israel, we should not judge so early... They say 'Leave the best till last' Smiley-wink

As for the 'legitimacy' of WikiLeaks, remember the 'Collateral Murder' video and the Afghan Diary War Logs and the Iraq War Logs, etc... If someone wants to argue that the U.S. deliberately leaked them so they can pull this Cable stunt later on with Assange on their side so they can win a censorship law to suppress freedom on the Internet even more, then okay I do believe that 'No risk, No reward' but I don't believe the U.S. actually took this much of a risk... I believe they simply did not do it,... not this time. It would take an immensely massive stroke of fortunate events to pull it off.

But for now - Assange you are the MAN. Mad respect.

RE: Wikileaks: What side?
Personally I think Wikileaks is legit, with what I know and have read. Either way, in principle, even if it wasn't I'd still support it in line with support for freedom of speech.

& It's not about how many cables Amazon has, it's the fact they're SELLING cables, when they're suppose to be free, and they're profiting from Wikileaks, when they took them off their server at the request of the US government. Hypocrites.

I agree with you 100%!

And to your first statement in the first post, please keep it up. I like to read that shit on here, so I don't have to look through the news sites myself to pick the goodies. Keep posting.

RE: Wikileaks: What side?
I would like to think that wikileaks is legit.

But there's a doubting notion in my mind, that suggests it may all just be a tactful psy op

RE: Wikileaks: What side?
I don't care if they're legit or not, and like was pointed out, much would just substantiate and lend credibility to what a lot of people already know. What's interesting for me is the reactions. Anybody claiming to support freedom, Democracy and justice is showing their true colors right now. The leaks should be the focus of attention, after the legitimacy of the source is established, and I don't think that's even refuted in the slightest by anyone. So after that, it's the info that's available to people now that can be added to any scholarship concerned with truth, that's important to me. I don't care if Assange was a child-molesting, genocidal tyrant, the info stands for itself. You can deal with and address Assange's personal issues separately and deal with him accordingly (lol, for whatever people seem to think he's done wrong, remember that we would probably hail a similar person who focused on Russian wrongs as a "hero"), whilst recognizing the info based on the merits of the material. I don't give a fuck if WikiLeaks is funded by the CIA, cause they'd be helping to expose the fallacy of the charade we call "politics". I'd send them a thank you letter.

RE: Wikileaks: What side?
Support Wikileaks to the death. Support democracy, support freedom.

I am behind wikileaks as an organization. As to the discretion of some of their people who review documents submitted, I am skeptical. Does a unit by unit list of weaponry in afghanistan or iraq or wherever need to be released? I don't think so... Do we need to know about a Belgian child Molestation case? Not really....

And yet there is so much good coming from this whole scenario. As the Flobots would say, "Once captivated minds are activating. The Insurgency is alive and well." Or something like that.

Carnivelesque Rebellion: Nov 22-28th.

Day 1: The Awakening
Day 2: The Divestment
Days 3&4: The Meme Wars
Days 5&6: The Plunge
Day 7: We Rest

If not you, than who. If not now, than when.

RE: Wikileaks: What side?
If he leaked Israeli intelligence the Mossad would strangle him by the tubes connected to his testicles. Whether they do it secretly or not, they wouldn't give a fuck. Assange knows this.

RE: Wikileaks: What side?
Isreali cables wont be 'Israeli' intelligence. It will be communications from Washington DC to US diplomats in Israel. None of the cables are actually 'intelligence' they are just internal chatter.
