RE: Top 55 Hip-Hop Artists/Groups ( this is my opinion)
no one got KRS on their list :'(
u gotta respect the originaters man xD everyone after 1987(or so?) had to study Rakim's flow to be a good followup..Rakim Changed the way people "Flowed" on their tracks, he was a god with his rythm, flow and lyrics!

my top ten of rappers or emcee's if so Smiley would be somethin like the following:

1. Melle Mel (& African Bambaataa 2 Smiley-grin)
2. Immortal Technique
3. Rakim
4. KRS-ONE
5. Tupac
6. Run-DMC
7. A Tribe Called Quest
8. De La Soul
9. Cypress Hill
10. Jedi Mind Tricks
11. Eazy-E
12. NWA

just had to get the last 2 on it xD

bout time someone showed celph some love... and you cant really say army of the pharaohs, cause technically that is like 20 or so individual rappers... and i can't believe no one has mentioned 7L and esoteric.. Blue Scholars, Reef the lost Cauze, and Aesop Rock deserve some props too

RE: Top 55 Hip-Hop Artists/Groups ( this is my opinion)
all you bastards yeah, immortal technique should be on top, but Rakim threw out the blueprint for complicated rhyme flow and Melle Mel was the creator of rhymes himself,

cant touch the originals, and immortal technique is untouchable because of them , in is lyrics, theres complicated rhymes into his tracks, clever usage of words into a strong message, and above all, a clear, focused concepts and substance

nuff said.
