Request: Merging of "Underground Hip-hop" and "Hip-hop" sections

Mods and admins, otherwise known as Pigs and Commies...
We humbly request that the Underground Hip-Hop section and Hip-Hop sections in the forum be merged.

Reason #1:
Considering the tastes of the many members on this forum, about majority of us post stuff in the underground section that is NEW while some other music posted in the "Hip-Hop" section are about older mainstream groups or old songs in general. If something is new, it's usually a snoozefest like Watch The Throne or anything new by Eminem or Dr. Dre. I don't like to relapse from happiness to misery caused by boredom.

Reason #2
What about when someone post about elements of hip-hop, such as beatboxing, dj'ing, graffiti, and etc. Hip-Hop section? Well, we'd like to put some El da Sensei, Akrobatik, Jean Grae, and Percee P up in that section. The music is all the same. Unless a good amount of us is still plagued by that "real hip-hop" stuff. AAAANNNNDDD many "underground" artists are known worldwide and get more support from France and Japan than the US. Plus, since we all live in different countries(although the UK sucks), what's "mainstream" won't apply universally. It's a good thing that we don't hear Rhyme Asylum or like the only two other decent rappers from Europe that sound decent. Oh and that one other guy...Lowkey? Not sure if I'm being too different here, but wouldn't worldwide success equate to mainstream status with the inclusion of the factor that most mainstream folks suck anal crust?

Reason #3:
Let's not forget how many MC's were once "mainstream" and are now underground. Even NaS has recently been pushed out or has received significantly less exposure since the N.I.G.G.E.R. album(Untitled isn't a proper album name, so suck it). Normore Pharcyde. No more Xzibit after Pimp My Ride.
Note: Xzibit is legit, nonbelievers. How about listening to his music before judging. The same goes for Chamillionaire. He's more than just "Ridin' Dirty".
Anyway, KRS-One is still a big shot with annual appearances on BET. around 2002, Slum Village had exposure with music videos on MTV only to be unheard of even after their official break up last year. Talib Kweli had that former exposure, too.
Little Brother, Gangstarr, Scarface, DJ Premiere, MC Lyte, and etc. all used to be formerly mainstream. Many MC's are "independent" now but still... we don't see them on the TV screen, at least not often.

Well there is a reason the Underground Hip Hop section has more than twice the amount of threads than the Hip Hop section because ALOT of people come here specifically looking for similar self-proclaimed UNDERGROUND artists like Immortal Technique. The Underground section is predominantly for Unsigned/Independent artists to get exposure. I know it is often difficult to say what artist is underground, or mainstream and it changes from time to time but it really is not big problem. If we were to merge the two then you would spend more time flicking through pages than you would from just that extra 1 click to the Underground section. For those reasons I'm not gonna merge it. If it really is a big problem for you maybe you're just lazy haha

it's more the definition of hip hop, mainstream and underground are irrelevant terms, does that means that I gotta post Xzibit's first 5 albums in mainstream, cuz he was signed to major? and the tracks from his last album in underground, cuz he released it independently through his own label??

Immortal Technique considers himself Underground. This is an Immortal Technique website in case you havn't noticed yet. It would only be right to have a section dedicated to other Underground artists. How many times have you seen someone ask on here where they can find more "underground" artists. I know i have seen that question loads on here, so if we had the 2 sections merged then pointed them to there its gonna be a pain the ass for them to sift through looking for that shit. Post X-zibit wherever you want, its not gonna clog up the sections.
