My friend I see him as a cool person easy to get along with, but its all just a mask, at home he's beaten by his parents, he does drugs to ease away the pain and forget about home, he skips classes to do those drugs, he's failing two of his classes, his dad hates him.... Thoughts?

How old is your friend, that he is beaten by his parents?

It may seem like a rat thing to do, but if we're talking in the age range of 10~15, call child services on the parents

What drugs is he doing? Anything really heavy?

You could ask him what his plans are. Not so much offering advice to him, but ask him what he's doing about all this to see what he has under control (maybe he can stomach the beatings) and what he needs help with from you or others

Tackle him head on, I'm assuming it's drugs that will only harm him beyond repair? Don't let him turn into a junkie, even if he hates you for it, stop him.

I mean..I'd say call the police but in all seriousness, their attitude in cases like this is execrable, depending on your state/class/race.
(They'd probably somewhere along the line forget about the beatings and focus on the drug use).

yeah, i know quite a few similar kids. just offer to talk it out. be there for him. best you can do. don't call the police. you'll lose his trust and possibly fuck him over. and foster homes are often just as bad.

intervine like a mutherfucker. actually if your willing to, offer him a spot in your crib, put some distance between him and his parents for a while. talke to him, let him know that there are people who are genuinely worried about him.

I know that kid. What his feelings are. I never did drugs to ease. My father used to hit me a lot. Fuck don't call the police, don't have him killed. Be a real freind and get him of the narcotics, it will all get better in the end.
