I didn't say he wasn't useful, obviously he set a precedent for the Black Panthers, I didn't say he didn't do good things, like Giving Malcolm a podium( Even if he did take it away) And I never said that I disliked The Nation of Islam, so don't make shit up. I was just stating that the guy was a hypocrite.

Aesop, do you understand English? I've not said anything about disliking him, just that he liked power too much. Just because he was the head of the Nation of Islam it doesn't make him a fucking saint.

I don't think he was a saint. He wasn't perfect, after all he was a human being. But I do believe we need to give credit where credit is due, because there's no doubt of the impact he had on Malcolm and black people in general.

The NoI preaches racism, wrong view of history (thinking earth was 76 trillion years old), that blacks are geneticly superior to whites., their cult was founded by a fraudster and actualy thought that this guy was god!!

Well, i'm an african muslim and although i have never been 2 the united states , i studied the african-american history well.
My problem with the nation of islam is like bobulos had said they preach racism,one race's superiorty, false claims of prophecy, white-man is the devil and the worst of all is that they do this in MY RELIGON'S NAME!!!!!
As a sunni muslim I feel like this organization hijacked words from my religon to promote their idiology.
I honestly think something should be done about the fact that they use terms like "Allah" to describe a man, because it is staight up blasphmous for any muslim. And i resent their use of many of the islamic refferances. I'm sure they did some progress in the history of the african american people on some level, but i say they coulda done it under a different name.
I'm sorry that this may seem like a rant, but its how i feel about this topic. I'm yet to reaad malcom x's bio to fully comprehend his transition from NOI to Islam so maybe i'll get a little more insight after i read it.

Good points there. Malcolm had to actualy visit places of islamic worship to see the bigger picture, whites blacks and asians are one people.

Regardless of what you think of religion, thats a great thing.

Orthodox muslims don't own the words "Allah" and "Islam". If the NOI taught orthodox Islam to black people to begin with, it wouldn't have had any effect on black people because that religion is for Arabs. We have our own problems in North America which aren't the same as yours in Africa and the Middle East. Black people needed a prophet or leader who could relate to the problems they were facing at home.

And when the NOI taught that the white man was the devil and that man is God, keep in mind of something Elijah said.. something to the effect of that he spoke a language of mathematics, mathematics is a language of symbols. So he was saying he spoke in symbols. Anybody who has any understanding of any religion whatsoever knows not to take anything on face value, and that there is a hidden message behind the Koran, Bible and all the holy books. Just something to think about.
