RE: KRS-One and Soulja Boy on Rap City
Why couldnt he come out and just say he was a commercial bitch who makes songs for ringtones and bends over backwards for his label to allow them to milk him like a cow.

Thats what i wish he had said.

P.S i like souljaboy as a pop star but he aint a rapper.

I think this is hilarious and Soulja Boy showed that he has no hip-hop background knowledge but hey Krs One as a man had to show Soulja Boy which is a youngster some respect.
Soulja Boy's music sucks though lol he cant even rap, big up to Krs One !

RE: KRS-One and Soulja Boy on Rap City
KRS is a big man (Literally and metaphorically)

This is how im feelin about this:

clearly the generation gap contains some form of de-evolution of the culture.

KRS: Djin, mcin, breakdancin, graffiti, beatboxin
SB: RAppin, Dancin, Partyin,

To me this is a display of promotion of Social and Political awareness vs. Disregard for intelligence and expression of knowledge in the art.

Anyways, Thats what i think. Props 2 KRS, a class act as usual.

Im a big fan of KRS. Very intelligent guy, and his songs are dope.
I find it hard to believe he really respects soulja boy.

and Ice T was just right.

RE: KRS-One and Soulja Boy on Rap City
i thought this show was retired..?

first off you can tell that soldier boy isnt even mentally present by his body language - folded arms head down..etc...

then when asked if he was hip hop he hesitates, turns away and said 'ughgh i guess so mayne' ahahahahhah what type of shit is that. he doesnt even know. I think its clear just by his response that he is not hip hop. He doesnt give a shit about the culture, he is in it for the most ridiculous reasons. I mean even little wayne has the nerve to say he is hip hop..at least come out and pretend to be. But by soldier boys response, he is essentially telling everyone that he could careless if he was hip hop or not. then when the host asks him what hip hop is, his answer is obviously much different than KRS'. And the simple stupidity of saying "just having fun and dont think about no consequences" as what hip hop is, is disgusting. Sure he makes a lot of money, has ignorant people hanging on his every word, and can do "the superman" on anyone he wants - but those things have no value in my world.

Fuck soldier boy. Im ashamed i even took 10 minutes of my day to talk about this guy.

RE: KRS-One and Soulja Boy on Rap City
^ hahahahh true to that. but unlike Soulja Boy, Lil Wayne is actually hip-hop/rap. he is just mainstream hip-hop/rap. so he can go & call himself a rapper & hip-hop artist & not be lying.
