Just made this music promo...I need feedback from you.

My neighbors friend asked me to do a promo for his video. Dudes gonna pay me for it, but I havn't talked about how much yet with him. I put a few hours in this video. Ok i need ur opinion on the video editing not the song, or you think it sucks or anything...just my editing. I filmed it, but the not the show ones. I did the effects and time slow/fast downs....edited the shit out for this video. Let me know how I did...and how much you think I should get for it...or feedback. Thanks peeps

You know what Moose i quite liked the light spots effects
I liked the colour changing co-ordinated with the slow down effect towards the end as well

As for the cons- the rain / lightening effects looked pretty 'cheap' (no offence). Also the jump to the feet at 37 seconds seemed a bit random and not needed. It seems like the guy hasn't supplied you with enough footage.

Maybe in place of the feet you could have a bit which explains the product?

Also not sure if you chose the song for the promo but man a promo song needs more basssssss! Shits gotta grab your attention!

Yeah he wants that as his song so nothing I can do about that. You're right I gotta get rid of the rain effect, and lighting, but keep the glare effect. Gonna redo someshit. Idk he wanted the feet part, but I made cooler then what it was. Thanks for the feedback Cleef.

I dunno dude, I can't really comment coz I'm not the kinda guy who likes too much going on in a vid...Sometimes less is more and things like text along the screen, flares, lighting, fancy transitions other than fade or just a straight cut, kaleidoscopic effects, pictures floating about the screen, they just don't do it for me...Not to say other people may not like it but it's just not my thing...And sorry, don't think I'm a dick, but the song's shit lol...

I can recommend some changes but then again it'd be going by my personal preferences...First off, re-shoot the whole thing...Remove the glasses, or get ones that aren't practically mirrors coz you can just see whoever's recording standing right there...Go out and scout a few locations, coz just recording in the living room or wherever looks cheap and tacky as hell...If you're gonna have the name in text at any point, be it at the beginning before the video starts, or at the end when the video's finished, and even then, keep it to simple text, simple font, simple colour eg. white, on a simple background eg. black, where you can include maybe the artist, track, album, year, producer and whatnot, and all it really needs is a simple fade in, fade out, video starts, and it'll look a lot more professional...If you're gonna use a live performance recording, make sure it's a well lit stage, and recorded on something that captures better quality...I watched it in 360p and it looked bad, so it'll look hella bad in 1080p...Also, try and get as much footage as you can in open daylight...You'll get a much clearer picture as videos in dark areas, or at least with less lighting result in a kinda graininess on the footage...

That's all I can really think of at the moment but like I say, all the above are my personal preferences...

yeah dude allgood thanks for the feedback. The dance scenes wern't mine shooting. He pretty much wanted all that in the video. I added my fx and slow mo's, fast motions. Wanted to snap on my editing skills. Had to make due what I had, so basically I think i did a goodjob on whats available. The dance scene effect was on the money. Not gonna questions someones lifestyle or way of music, that i work with.
