Not saying shit was perfect, but one thing is sure, it's not like the leaders of then was any worse than today's developed and to a point, secular europe...
but I just wanna put emphasis on the fact that the history in the Iberian Peninsula, Africa, Middle East and Asia, was abit different from what it was in Europe from 500-600 till 1300-1400, there was like this thing called, I dunno, Islamic Golden Age?

Well the European Age of Enlightment/Reason which pretty much laid the foundation for the morals and values of today was made by people who dearly insisted that a God existed, and great thinkers like Isaac Newton even showed themselves to be theists...
their religion u could say? was just more secular in nature... but some still had "hopes" or "beliefs" that Christianity still was a "good" religion...

But this isn't only an arguement of religion, but also ignorance towards the history of outside world... Europe is so... euro centric...

I reply that the latest one, and the one that made the foundation for the rights, beliefs and practical moral shared today, wasn't so different since they themselves, had beliefs, some of them still tilted to the christian religion...

i didn't belittle the advancement of science by the muslim world, although there's no such thing a a 'muslim science'a 'jewish science or a 'hindu science' etc as science is the same everywhere, whatever your religion is(or isn't) you will see the same shit in our solar system thru a telescope, Although a muslim will think anything which resembles a line on the surface of the moon is cos mohammed magicly split it in half once with his omnipotent index finger .

I simply stated that this was not the thread for it and it had little to do with taking the piss out of the passion.

That because the majority of the users here are butthurt from past experiences or are just to immature to express their opinions without being childish and rude. Which is why we can never have a legitimate discussion about any subject of God and the supernatural.

That is true, but the claim the picture Mono made was that when religion was a part of how a country was ruled, there was no science at all, it was all repressed and not allowed to be studied, that is bullshit. Just because the Dark Ages happend in Europe "because" of Religion, doesn't mean that all religions everywhere caused the same shit, and secondly, I don't even blame christianity for what happend in the dark ages, for me, that's like blaming the Age of Reason for USA right now.

I shall leave your thread alone now.
