^I agree with you 100% on that. 120%, actually. Saw this in people all my life and never understood it. Not simply with religion, but anything. How am I supposed to believe what you do when I don't see anything substantial and you can't provide any info? Yet, I'm still supposed to believe it because you're my parents? Teacher? Some dude in the Mosque? Nah, I'm not down with that, and I felt along time ago that I have to make sure I act accordingly. I can't expect someone to believe that this guy here is a thief. They haven't seen him steal anything even though I've seen the dude steal everything. I can only share what I know and let the other person figure things out for themselves.
