2pac died back in 1996... and i believe that it was first after his death that his music gained big interrest and many fans. He was kinda martyred for his music. Let me ask, if Tech should be shot it could be by government, by some retarded fans and so on... do u guys believe his music will get huge interrest from people like with Pac's music?

its hard to say. 2pac was mainstream when he died. he was more known. There are a lot of people that have no idea who I.T. is so it might not make a big difference. but i could be wrong. maybe his stuff will somehow get more popular.

I'll have to disagree, he might have been "mainstream" in the rap genre, but not so in the general area of music - he wasn't "pop" in terms of popularity. At the same time, I think you're right, Tech's exposure is nowhere near what Pac's was when he died - if Tech were to die right now, I don't see his popularity rising that much. A bit, but not that much.

I don't think that will be the case necessarily, but more will be interested in his cause. I think if Immortal Technique had more exposure he would be very popular. Sadly, his biggest promoter is Youtube.

You need to understand that 2pac was the most popular rapper during his time. So he was more widely known than Technique will possibly ever be.

Also, 'Pac wrote and recorded hundreds of songs before he died. His main concentration was on making music so he can kick off his acting career. With the type of busy lifestyle that Felipe has, I don't think he has nearly enough music recorded to release multiple albums after his death. He might have a few songs to be released, but who's going to release them? Unless Tech has a plan for someone to release his shit if he were to die, the music would probably just be leaked like all of the 2pac material that's been leaked.

As far as people gaining interest in the posthumous music? That's tough to say. Maybe the underground fans would listen to his last words, or his unreleased material, but it would never make it big so that it's heard worldwide.

^on "One remix" he mentions that, about his music gettin released after he dies. I think he's got a plan - for stuff to be released how he wants it, not like what has been done with Pac's art.

it'll be interesting to see which rappers do give him recognition for what he's done if he was killed, I dont think I've ever heard him mentioned by another rapper who he hasnt collabed with.. Of course these mainstream rappers are aware of him, he's performed on the same sets as mainstream rappers n shit so I'm sure alotta rappers know what hes capable of n maybe thats why theyre trying to keep him a secret?

I think if he died the internet would go crazy but I dont think it'll be televised more than once if that, and yeh.. I think he'd sell more, after all dying is one of the best things u can do for your career

^ well that is what i meant. he was a lot more known then Tech is right now. & in a way he was mainstream but just getting into mainstream is all. his albums where made more public & he was in movies. lot more known before his death then Tech is right now.

lol, maybe after the Middle Passage, that twitter comment about how the song will finish him..been thinkin about what it could be about. Personally, I think another 4-5 years, a couple more albums, orphanages and interviews, and they'll start cracking down on him - hard. He'll get big in a few years, I think.

He is actually very well known all throughout the United States, if anyone is familiar with the underground or the independent music scene, especially Hip Hop they will know who he is. A lot of people know who he is, A LOT and he is only been in the hip hop "game" for 10 years. In the other hand Tupac is one of the most popular rappers period and Tech's "popularity" doesn't compare to Pac's...
