Who said that again?

Jesus Mother Fucking Christ

To be fair, Immortal Technique is a real person for which we have evidence that he exists, unlike Jesus, the fictional character in The Bible. So, it's reasonable to say that IT said it, which he did in a song, but Jesus never really said anything since mythical people don't actually talk.

My point is that IT can't be expected to be perfect. He even asks you not to expect that of him and follow him to an extreme where one would call him a hypocrite for not making the best decisions based on his philosophy and world view all of the time.

lol i was trying to be funny.

RE: Immortal Technique is a hypocrite
How can someone TRY to insult the greatest MC on this planet? Not only a great MC, a true inspiration.

U go and play Battlefield 3 and worry about dumb shit. While i listen to Tech.

Tech gave us so much and u wanna try n take it away from him for doing a song on a soundtrack to a first person shooter game? Do me a favour.

Let Tech do wtf he wants, if thats soundtrackin a game, go ahead. The point is Tech is the man who will never go back on his beliefs, views, and wont b told anything different. He's a clever man, he knows what he's doing.

And what if Tech licensed his music out to Apple or something? Caterpillar? Chiquita? Companies who's activities he is well aware about. Would that also be Tech "not going back" on his views? Like I said, if shit is used without permission or if he wasn't involved in the licensing, I can understand how it's no big deal but given his work, art, dedication and knowledge, it seems weird that he would license a song for a game that has you pretending to be American soldiers attacking Iran. Why would anyone just accept this cause it's Tech? If anything, people who dig his shit would be the first to raise their eyebrows and start asking questions.

It might just be a case of his music being set up with a licensing company and him not knowing about it, or having a say, but I'd still be interested on his thoughts about it.

In addition to the catalog we represent on the label side we have done deals with the majority of the indie labels in the Nordic countries so that we represent their full catalogs for placements (master, and in many cases publishing rights), worldwide. Material from select labels in other territories will also be added to the database to ensure that we have an extensive catalog of easy to clear music in all different musical styles...

...Film/TV licensing has been an important part of our business for the past 10 years...

RE: Immortal Technique is a hypocrite
Hahahaha! That guy is so stupid that I don't even want him to run that site no more. Fuck, I hate these kind of overreacting people who think someone who spreads the message of revolution has to do everything 'revolutionary style.'

This guy makes me think of a guy I met at the occupy protests. He asked me if I had a job, I said no I was unemployed at that moment. Then he asked me if I had money. I said 'No'. Then he called me a dick and a loser because I smoked and I supported the tobacco industry while being at the occupy protest O_o

What do these people expect? That Technique wakes up in the morning and thinks 'I AM GONNA CHANGE DA WURLD' as he grabs his AK-47 and goes out fighting for a better world. Or that he wakes up just like the rest of us and thinks 'The weather is shitty, I have a hangover, fuckit I'm going to spend the day playing some Battlefield'

The guy is human too for fuck sake!

He's not a hypocrite. But I understand where you're coming from. Everytime I buy something from nike or any other brand, I'm like, so I listen to tech/lowkey... but here I am purchasing and supporting the same industry. I'd really like technique's views on all this.

RE: Immortal Technique is a hypocrite
Finding it strange that Tech would license his music to a game where you pretend to be American soldiers attacking Iran and looking for nuclear weapons is really that controversial?? Even after he dropped this verse? Because someone sees an issue with that, it means they expect Tech to run around with an AK and shit? Come on. It's not about money, how much money is he gonna make off that shit? Significantly more than what he makes off touring?

Where do you draw the line? When his track shows up in commercials for companies who run sweat shops? Companies who produce machinery used to commit genocide? Companies responsible for the destruction of local agricultural economies and the creation/funding of security states kept in power by death squads? Would it be too much if one of his tracks was the soundtrack to blowing Castro's head off? Or would it be all good because it's a game, he wasn't the real Castro and because your love of playing video games outweighs any moral issues you have with this bullshit? If we make games about raping little children, it's all good then? Because they're just "games". Why is asking questions like these drawing so much heat? Why is it so ridiculous that some people draw the line here?

RE: Immortal Technique is a hypocrite
i dont know were i would personally draw the line (it is interesting to think about) i guess its drawing so much heat because he flat out said thats hes done with tech just for this maybe if he asked the question "what would it take to make you stop listening to tech" it wouldve started a more interesting discussion
