I have just given the Martyr a third listen and the first listen I wasn't that impressed. I wasn't the I.T. that I know. But after 3 listens it seems that he has grown a bit and I wasn't ready for the message that he delivers. This is a fucking impressive album and it's free because EVERYONE needs to hear this.

As a strict metalhead, I.T is one of few rappers who interest me. I see people talking about how he doesn't have 'flow' and other technicalities about rap that I don't know much about. But I do know that Tech can touch your heart no matter what his musical style is. This is a warcry to all of the people in the world to fight for a better future, regardless of the country you were born in, the melanine percentage your skin has, the distance of your eyes from each other, the clothes you wear, or the hairstyle you have.

Just realised im pretty fucking high and my post might sound stupid but fuck it, i'm right.

Sup Broseph, I see you enjoy metal so in case you've never heard it:

Gb RE: Immortal Technique- The Martyr (Free Album: Download Here) [Oct. 2011]
I have to say, that as a massive IT fan I'm somewhat disappointed with this album. I've followed him right from back in the day and really enjoyed his growth on his previous albums (think the Revolutionary volumes and the 3rd World) but I can understand why this is a mixtape rather than an album as, for me, it just doesn't live up to what we expect. In some ways he's a victim of his own success because we expect so much from him.

Don't get me wrong - there are some great tracks on here, and some of the verses he spits are amazing (who else do you know that can put 'homunculus' into a verse!?) but I have to agree with a previous poster that some of the featured artists are fairly weak.

Standout tracks are: The Martyr, Young Lords (just because he's sampled Bon Jovi of all people haahahahaha), Rich Man's World and Toast to the Dead.

Regardless of that, I can't think of any other rapper (with the exception of UK rapper Lowkey - check out his album 'Soundtrack to the Struggle') that can evoke varying emotions, tell stories and represent what hip hop should be about. I listen to him (or Lowkey) then someone like Lil Wayne or 50 Cent and there's just no comparison...

Revolutionary 1 and 2 are still his best works by far though in my humble opinion, although I prefer his delivery now.

As you said, it's just a mixtape. He probably had favors for some rappers and then in return he put them on the mixtape.
I still like it and think it's fire, his verses doesn't dissapoint me on any track on the new one and I bet that on TMP he wont have this many features, at least not wack ones.

RE: Immortal Technique- The Martyr (Free Album: Download Here) [Oct. 2011]
This album has grown on me...at first I wasn't too fond of it, but after several times listening to it, I've come to the conclusion that It's not too bad. My favorites are...Toast to the Dead, Eyes in the sky, The Martyr(my fave momentarily), Young Lords, and Angels And Demons.
I'm still waiting on Rev Vol. 3 though...we need full Tech songs without featured artists! I also think his topics need more diversity...Cheers.

it's what made Rev Vol. 2 so great...he covered an array of topics.

The formulation... the key to my credential,
Knowledge makes my potential more essential.

Revolutionary Vol III won't come out in a while, you should probably start looking forward to The Middle Passage which is coming out some time this year.
