RE: How do you feel about drugs?
Psychedelic drugs along with weed have never killed anyone (except for some actions people have taken while under the influence from them). Drugs such as heroin and meth have no room on this earth imo as they basicaly only ruin lives and have no positives.

I also believe if alcohol and tobacco are legal then people should not be getting locked up for less harmful drugs such as weed. Doesn't make sense but we are talking about goverment laws after all Smiley-razz

RE: How do you feel about drugs?
You know there is sumthing soo incredibly hypocritical about the whole illegal drugs ar bad but legal ones are good thing. It makes no sense.

What was that mantra again? Say no to drugs or summin, well it should really hav been say no to drugs...............unless ur doctor gives em to u.......then its ok.

Like illegal drugs r sumhow worse then legal ones.

However I personally wouldn't consider taking any lab produced crap whether its legal or otherwise.

The only illegal drug thats ever called to me is ayahuasca. Ayahuasca is a herb that is made into a tea, its been used by shamans in the amazon rainforest for thousands of years. God knows y its illegal. Its' been known to cure addiction, depression and even in one case I read about terminal cancer. Apart from all that, apparently it can help u find a little piece of paradise.

I doubt there is many legal drugs as versatile as that lil Peruvian gem. Yet its illegal?!!

So ayahuasca is probs the only drug I would consider. Apparently it sends u to hell for a bit lol. I wouldn't mind spending sum time with the devil, he probs just needs sum love.

RE: How do you feel about drugs?
The only illegal drug I have experienced is marijuana and I think it should be legalized for many reasons. It's one of the most easily accessible drugs everyone knows someone who smokes it and therefore anyone could get in contact with a dealer. As was said in one post law enforcement could be spending their time on more important things such as catching murderers and rapists. I don't think weed is any more harmful than tobacco or alcohol. Since it is illegal it basically makes anyone who chooses to smoke it, many who are law abiding citizens otherwise, to deal with criminals (drug dealers). Having it illegal has only created more crime. You can compare it to when the government banned alcohol in 1920 it HELPED the mafia, because everyone drinks and now they had to buy from criminals.
If we did legalize marijuana the government could tax it and hopefully put the money towards something worthwhile. That also means we could create a whole new industry that would create jobs and isn't that what Obama's trying to do.

I really don't see any negatives to legalize marijuana anyone can get a hold of it while it's illegal so why not legalize it and benefit from it.

RE: How do you feel about drugs?
Many of you have come up with some very valid & decent points here. Now my turn to drop my opinion. Obviously as you can see by my Username & my Avatar, I am very into my Weed. I've been smoking weed for AAAAGES now & have only ever had two really awfull experiences with it. & they weren't paranoia OR anything that made me want to wile out & go nuts on those around me. Weed should DEFINITELY be made legal worldwide. To be honest, most days I smoke weed, & your probably wondering where I get the money from. Well I'm gonna say right now, I NEVER have & NEVER will attack & mug someone for money to buy Weed. I have my weed, by not smoking all of whatever I buy in one night, whether that be a 10,20 or a quarter & alot of my friends buy Weed often aswell & we always share because we are like brothers. I'm smoking weed pretty much every day these days and tbh I don't mean ANYONE harm. We sit in my yard, or a friends yard & we just have a good time, shielded away from whatever crimes may be going down. But yet, if the Police came & saw us they'd treat us like maniacs and throw us to the floor violently & off to the station we go. This is WRONG. What the Police SHOULD be doing, is arresting the people who are stabbing others pointlessly, mugging civillians, & robbing. Not the happy stoners who wanna throw on a Hip-Hop record & just chill allnight taking hits from a bong, or whatever technique they use. Another reason why Marijuana should be legal is it would take money out of the hands of SO many violent gangs. Make it legal & the money goes to someone else, that gang won't be able to purchase their newest lethal gun or whatever.

I have had experience with more than just Marijuana, but Marijuana is the only one I do really. Its a lovely thing. Its more safer than Alcohol. You cannot overdose on Marijuana. If you could I'm sure one of these nights I'd be dead by now. its a happy drug. some people can't handle it thats all. thats my word

RE: How do you feel about drugs?
I encourage you to look up why and how they became illegal in the first place, its in essence a story of governmental racism.

Opiates are illegal for obvious reasons, just look at China in the 1900's, it needs to stay illegal or at least highly controlled.

Cocaine - This was made illegal due to racism, in the 1900's there were constant stories in the newspaper and a fear that young "negros" would take and rape young white women, these were totally baseless.

After a while they began saying it was because blacks didn't have the willpower to control substance addiction, they used the phrase "Crack crazed negros" - and moved to get it banned.

Marijuana - This was racism against mexicans, during the depression the US Govt was having trouble feeding its people, it wanted there to be less people and they knew that the new mexican immigrants smoke Marijuana, so they banned it and placed a 5 year sentence for being found with a single joint.

It worked, the mexicans fled.

Don't know about many of the others, but those are the interesting histories. Also its good to note that banning drugs is unconstitutional, they got around that by simply stating you needed a permit to own them, and never producing any permits.
By the 1970's when a rockstar took it to the supreme court to get this changed, public mood was such they just moved to ban completely.

(05-20-2009 06:26 AM)_blink_ Wrote:  How do you look at drugs? You think the should all be legal? All illegal? Think there the best and don't see why people hate? Think it's a waste of time?
Share your thoughts!

Personally I don't have I problem with drugs. I don't really care if there legal or not. I personally don't do drugs because i believe they are a waste of time and money. For most people, drugs is a coping method ( Something you do to escape stress, life, issues etc.). I think there are better coping methods out there than drugs. I think this because first drugs are expensive. Second the high doesn't last long and lastly because you usually don't have much control over yourself. I think that there are more intelligent coping methods such as mine writing graffiti, skating, and hacking. So thats just how i look at it.
Why don't you really care if there legal or not? You must know if that drug is legal or not so that you will not suffer as time goes by. You must also know if what is the purpose of the drug so that if ever you are not feeling well, you can get the exact medicine for it.

Are you sure about this? Because Crack only emerged in the 80s, I really don't think they could have used that kind of language then.

Cocain as a substance has existed long before it became big in the 80's. It was first synthasised in the 1855, it was put in medicines and drinks (e.g. coca-cola) as they didn't have to list ingredients until after 1900 or so. It was one of the first drugs banned in the US. Here is the wikipedia page (Not the best source, but i'm feeling lazy):
Quote:In 1914, Dr. Christopher Koch of Pennsylvania’s State Pharmacy Board made the racial innuendo explicit, testifying that, “Most of the attacks upon the white women of the South are the direct result of a cocaine-crazed Negro brain.” Mass media manufactured an epidemic of cocaine use among African Americans in the Southern United States to play upon racial prejudices of the era, though there is little evidence that such an epidemic actually took place. In the same year, the Harrison Narcotics Tax Act outlawed the sale and distribution of cocaine in the United States. This law incorrectly referred to cocaine as a narcotic, and the misclassification passed into popular culture.
