A tyrannical act. Extreme harshness or severity; rigor. Based on the quote Bob used it's leaning more towards the more extreme tyranny. Prohibiting killing, stealing and lyings isn't negative. RE: God, the tyrant.
Prohibition is of course negative. Just because you agree with a tyrant's policies it doesn't alter the fact that the tyrant is a tyrant

RE: God, the tyrant.
He did yes, but if God is omnipotent and loving.
1) Why would he even let Lucifer into the Garden? 2) Why would he stand idly by why the dissident Angel tricked them? 3) Why would God create a being that could disobey him, and then punish them so severely for it? |

RE: God, the tyrant.
It is possible that some text explaining is missing. Cain had a wife whose origin is unknown.
If God is omni-scient aka all knowing, wouldn't he have known that the serpent would tempt Eve? Also since there was a Tree of Good and Evil, evil was already in existence with God simultaneously? Unless you count Lucifer. "Humans are the most individualistic species I know. If you have three humans in a room, there will be six opinions." ~ Samara

RE: God, the tyrant.
So we have free choice, the free choice to not obey God, yet if we don't obey God we're punished? That does sound quite tyrannical to me.
