George Carlin

Carlin and his "Seven Dirty Words" comedy routine were central to the 1978 U.S. Supreme Court case F.C.C. v. Pacifica Foundation, in which a narrow 5–4 decision by the justices affirmed the government's power to regulate indecent material on the public airwaves. The first of his fourteen stand-up comedy specials for HBO was filmed in 1977. From the late 1980s, Carlin's routines focused on socio-cultural criticism of modern American society. He often commented on contemporary political issues in the United States and satirized the excesses of American culture. His final HBO special, It's Bad for Ya, was filmed less than four months before his death. In 2004, Carlin placed second on the Comedy Central list of the 100 greatest stand-up comedians of all time, ahead of Lenny Bruce and behind Richard Pryor. He was a frequent performer and guest host on The Tonight Showduring the three-decade Johnny Carson era, and hosted the first episode of Saturday Night Live. Bill Hicks

It was in the UK, however, where Hicks first amassed a significant fan base, packing large venues with his 1991 tour. Hicks died of pancreatic cancer in 1994 at the age of 32. In the years after his death, his work and legacy achieved acclaim in creative circles. In 2007 he was voted the fourth-greatest stand-up comic on the UK's 100 Greatest Stand-Ups on Channel 4, and appeared again in the updated 2010 list as the fourth-greatest comic. ^In 2007, his first special, it was actually funny. I laughed.

The second time, I didn't laugh. His trailing off into obscure unique situations in his jokes in the first special was good. Now it's like he's Mencia with the shock value but twice as funny.

Alright, time to update the list! Thanks guys! Keep em coming!! Some of the Bill Hicks shows got fucked over because the uploader his account got deleted. So if anyone got the full bill hicks shows, on any streaming site, it would be appreciated!

EDIT: I also got some more George Carlin (All of his material) Doug Stanhope, Louis CK and Bill Hicks shows on my harddisk back at my place, they are not on youtube. Not sure if I should upload them or not? What do you guys think? One of Louis CK his shows came of a 5 dollar DVD that was made for charity, but I newsleeched it. It depends if most of you people want this on youtube I would be happy to upload it. if not.. hit me up and i'll try to provide you with torrent links and such!
