Im sorry but how the hell do people actually like shows like south park and family guy? no disrespect cause i know there are some die hard followers of these shows. Personally i find them annoying and petty, and im not even on some elitist condescending bullshit. I've tried to watch those shows but i cant get into it. And i know there are some political messages in south park and what not but for realll..???!!

I guess its something trivial and not necessarily reflective of someones character if they like a certain show cause i know if i listed all the shows i was or still am into, there are bound to be some petty ones. I think its an emotional or sentimental interest that we have in certain tv shows. Whether it be something about the show that takes us back to our childhood or aspects in a show that represent positivity.

Prison Break (although I've seen none of Season 4)
Heroes (seen none since mid season 2)
The Ultimate Fighter (not the best show but I'm a huge MMA fan)
World Series of Poker (Just love the game)
South Park (been a fan since I 1st saw it)
Family Guy (Fuckin Hilarious)
Flight of the Conchords (those 2 kiwis crack me up)
Outrageous Fortune (an R18 drama/comedy from here in NZ)
Chappelles show (funniest comedian IMO, his standups are classic)
Band of Brothers (only watched 2 of the 4 discs in the dvd set but it was tha shit)

Just comes down to pesonal preference I think. I love South Park. I don't watch it for educational reasons. I don't take it seriously its just an easy program to watch & funny. Beats these ridiculous TV reality shows. Also south park targets ego celebs which I love lol. Kanye West will never shake the GAYFISH joke. =))

South Park has its ups and downs. For one it can be hilarious at times and at other times it isnt. Same with Family Guy. The thing i like about both is that they do stuff they other shows wouldn't. Kind of hard to explain but i think the writers of South Park make some really good points in some of the episodes. Regarding the economy or the way we as a society (american society) act. Its hard for me to think of certain episodes right now but one example is the economy episode or even the Team America movie.

i see. yea, just a matter of preference i guess. maybe i have a negative bias towards these shows cause i used to have a friend that loved south park, the simpsons...etc... and he basically formulated his own socio-political beliefs based on some of the shows commentary. hahah

haha oh dear. I'm sure you can take some of the points made with a pinch of salt. But looking toward cartoons to encourage your poltical beliefs doesnt really spark brain cells for me lol. I mean... there is an episode of south park where if you put food up your arse, you shit out your mouth. You friend needs help dude lol.
