RE: Dr. Gabor Maté
Alot of research does go unnoticed, especially allot of feasible preventive and promotion research that can improve things like the emotional development of an individual, which Maté talks about. Social emotional learning programs that foster social and emotional learning in children through the school system have proven effective empirically for instance. They have promoted positive social behavior, improved attitudes toward self and others, improved academic performance while reducing conduct problems.

LOL, thank you Laz Smiley . He's amazing, learning a lot.

And New, I don't think that current school programs help the children that much...

RE: Dr. Gabor Maté
Old programs suck, but I'm talking about new evidence backed programs like Social Emotional Learning (SEL) ones. This have been studied vastly for its effectiveness. In a recent report that summarized findings of over 317 studies using universal principles of SEL that involved 324,303 elementary and middle school children, the findings showed that the effect size resembled an 11 to 17 percent points improvement in academic performance across all studies viewed. Other criteria Improved as well. Considering that much of the analysis have shown even much greater effects, we can say that the program works because it deals with a crucial part of the child's development that is the emotional part like the Dr. In those videos was talking about. There is tons of research like this that is overlooked by policy makers and the public even thought they can be cost beneficial and cost effective.

RE: Dr. Gabor Maté
But these programs are not being implemented on wide scale though, right? That's what I meant. I am sure there are many great programs out there that don't get the attention/ respect because they will be too effective: i.e they will effectually help the children leading to lower funds once people get better, or more funding will be needed to help people and people are obviously not worth our help.

RE: Dr. Gabor Maté
add doesn't exist, at least with 90 percent of the people who are diagnosed with it

RE: Dr. Gabor Maté
It obviously exists, now, does that mean that the treatment being used, or the over-diagnosis is okay, no.
