Creation of the universe
I had a look arround and i didnt see a good thread with this discussion so i thought id start one.

What do you think the origins of the universe are?

Which theory are you more inclined to agree with?

Does religion have an answer?

RE: Creation of the universe
the Big Bang through String Theory seems the most logical, mathematically that is.

(branes break down, collapsed into a singularity, and then BANG! repeat)

from my understanding (from reading posts here on the forum) some religions leaves these possibilities open. But im no theologian.

RE: Creation of the universe
Does the big bang theory not seem to be mathmatically impossible? All of this produced by an explosion? I mean, if you look at how life is so complex and how everything is so balanced out perfectly, like photosynthesis for example, and how trees use carbon dioxide but produce oxygen while we use oxygen and produce carbon dioxide. It just seems to be impossible that all of this came from a random explosion.

Im not saying much on it because I haven't researched enough, but that was just something I've always wondered about.

RE: Creation of the universe
Well there are alot of problems with the big bang theory, some things that dont make sense. In science you allways have to keep the small constant in the back of your mind that your entire thoery could be wrong. Alot of scientists think we may be on the verge of revising the big bang theory. Ill list a few of its flaws.

When the universe came into existance it didnt just explode, it is belived that it became a small ball for a while and expanding extremely slowly. Undoubtably a bang created this ball that is the universe but the real big bang happened when this small ball expanded a quadrillon quadrillion times, thats the real big bang (think along the lines of blowing up a balloon but not stopping).
The math behind this theory said that the universe would expand and eventualy stop. But it was prooven that in fact the expansion of the universe sped up over the last 8 billion years.

So what is causing it to expand? No one knows. The term dark energy has been used but its just a substitute for our ignorance. 1 flaw.

2nd flaw. Dark matter. According to eistiens laws of space/time, stars on the outer edge of galaxies should move slower to ones near the center but this was also proven wrong after every galaxy viewed had its entire sheet moving at the same speed. So scientists came up with dark matter, an invisible particle that fills space and can move through normal matter. The room your sitting in probibly has a load of it moving through your walls (if the dark matter theory is true) but there is no explanation of where it came from or if it even exists. If it does exist then einstien was wrong, if it doesnt then wtf is making galaxies move at the same speed at different ends.

Then theres the whole, how did the bang start? Why did the small ball suddenly expand? Why has the universe's expansion sped up?

So many loop holes and so many questions.

I cant respond to the first one. But the second one i have a comparison for, i wont call it an answer because i have no way of testing it, obviously.

Due to the same physical law you explained, the equator of the earth, having a wider diameter should move slower than the rest of the planet, but it doesnt because it is connected to the rest of the planet. Thus, cant we assume that dark matter could be a reality, connecting everything instead of an excuse for ignorance? a god energy of some sort? Idk, just throwin it out there.

i feel like im forgetting something i wanted to say... i'll reply back again when i remember.
