Boxing.
What do y'all think of boxing, favourite boxers etc.
The idea for such a thread arose after seeing a self-professed, obsessive Amir Khan supporter on my facebook homepage, recalling the event of the match that took place last night between him and Maidana.
I'm not into boxing all that much, watch an occasional fight every now and then, if I was a guy I'd probably try it out albeit, I don't like the idea of a broken nose, tho like I was going to do with Kickboxing.

Just remembered a film I watched called 'GirlFight' with Michelle Rodriquez. Have to say it was badass.

To love is to suffer.
To avoid suffering, one must not love.
But then one suffers from not loving.
Therefore, to love is to suffer.
Not to love is to suffer.
To suffer is to suffer.
To be happy is to love.
To be happy, then, is to suffer, but suffering makes one unhappy.
Therefore, to be unhappy one must love,
or love to suffer, or suffer from too much happiness...
I hope you're getting this down.

RE: Boxing.
I haven't seen a boxing match in years. Last boxer I ever supported was Pacquiao.

RE: Boxing.
I don't know anything about boxing but I always wanted to train and be a boxer but my parents never allowed they said it's too dangerous! The movement of the boxer's hand and legs what always amazed me.

Props to Killuminati for this sick design!

Haha, I remember punching a guy only because he was asking for it and consequently breaking his glasses.

RE: Boxing.
Does Rocky count?? Haha
no but on the serious side
Muhammad Ali has to be the greatest
Rocky Marciano as well
mmm Julio Cesar Chavez when he was on top of the game
people dont think he was good for the fact he became a drug addict afterwards and got beaten by de la hoya when he was already about to retire so thats why i said when he was on top of his game...
Ive been watching alot of fights each sat since i get this mexican channel that passes all the fights live fuck pay per view haha..
and well obviously Pac-Man i dont like him one bit but the guy has skills..
Sugar ray Robinson if i remember correctly knew how to kick ass as well cant argue that, roberto duran i believe that guy could moveeeeeee ive seen his fights on youtube and damnn..But People from the phillipines say Pac Man is the best boxer in history
people from the U.S say it was Muhammad Ali
I gotta Say It Was Julio just for the fact people didnt expect him to get so far
Great Thread by the way Sis Smiley

RE: Boxing.
Real Knockout of a thread this is, awesome.
Gonna move it to the Sports Section of the Forum.

Boxing is cool, too cool... So cool, in fact, probably the greatest fighter to have fought in recent years committed suicide this April Smiley-sad

The likes of Emmanuel Pacquiao were afraid of him.

As for the sport in general, it's good when real competition is in balance and when fighters actually fight for the career, ranking and sake of the sport instead of for just money. I think some fight promoters and some "wealthy" fighters kill the game... they give a bad name to the sport in my opinion.

Also I dislike trash talkers, such as Floyd Mayweather Jr.

Muhammad Ali did run his mouth a lot too BUT he lived up to it as well, he could at least produce. He hosted a fight in Zaire and fought the best of his time instead for just money.

EDIT: just wrote a whole lot of crap out about the core of real fighters and what not and just lost it with a clickSmiley-sad. Fup.

All I gotta say is to redo it in short is: If you haven't seen some boxing trilogies, ESPECIALLY the Marco Antonio Barrera vs Eik Morrales Trilogy, then you haven't seen boxing.

Peace

RE: Boxing.
I don't really follow boxing much. But I like it. Might try to follow it more but all I gotta say is Pacquiao. He is a beast. Dominates every weight class he joins.

Defo man, like that Breidis Prescott that trained and lived in slum conditions who rocked Amir Khan's jaw.
