I agree w/ Vegan on the problem not being public education. That should be emphasized. I believe it is not in the best interest of the stats quo to have a well-educated majority, for obvious reasons. I think those drugs are part of the capitalist establishment as well though, the medicalization of behaviour for pharmaceutical gains. Ritalin is one molecule off of cocaine, basically it is a desinger-drug version of Cocaina.

When I was in grade 11 I asked my counsellor what to do cuz i was having a hard time focusing in math class. he offered me ritalin, RIGHT OUT OF HIS DRAWER! no prescription or anything "try one, see how you like it" kinda deal.

I said no thanks... I passed math and powered through it, but what I wanted was some tutoring, or a different teacher or some other option.

Don't let them feed drugs to your kids cuz they can't handle them and stimulate them appropriately

I really don't support any use of a drug to treat ADD, ADHD, or any other "mental illness" or "disorder". Mental disease, illness, or disorder just seem like, as Szasz said before, weasel terms.

All drugs ain't bad now.
