50 Cent?
What do you guys think of 50 Cent? My friend was talking him up and shit so I recently gave his music a listen and really enjoyed the beats and some of the messages and dialouges I heard. What do you guys think of his music and persona? What about his radical change from a thug to a very brolic business man looking to give back to his community and world?

I never watched Beef, but he is pretty dirty when it comes to destroying a rappers career. Ever seen the videos where he wines and dines Rick Ross's babymama and kids? Fucking dirty.

I just looked that up after I read your post

That's rick ross's baby mother giving a nice genitalia-touching hug from 50

Oh my god, rick ross lost all credit. 50's ass should have been smoked if rick was a real gangster or thug. Oh man, 50 just got some respect from me, he acts like a boss.

---------------

ANYWAYS

As a rapper I have always liked him, he has a great flow and lyrical ability. But he's on par with every other major rapper for me for the same reason I don't really love Eminem or Biggie as much as I want to: They didn't use their fame and influence to positively influence society in any major way.

Rappers like Technique (Obviously), Nas and Ice Cube have, which is why they are on a tier that 50 cent has not yet reached

RE: 50 Cent?
Yea, thats the same problem I have with him. But a lot of his movies, books, and some of his music showcase and advocate against the dangers of drug dealing and being a thug. He is also doing a lot of positive stuff. He did something with Someone calle Bet Middle?- not sure on spelling- helping out his old community playground. And he has a cool campaign with his energy drink Street Kingz.
And yea, he is a cutthroat G when it comes to people disrespecting him.

RE: 50 Cent?
The Power Of The Dollar & GRODT are the albums I like by him. Now he just sounds like another mainstream rapper.

RE: 50 Cent?
Like I said in another thread, not all music has to be about how fucced up our world is. It's okay to have some non-sense catchy song play every once in a while. That's what rapper like 50 cent bring. He does have songs that are amazing. Like many men, I'm supposed to die tonight, ect. It just comes down to personal preference.

RE: 50 Cent?
I was listening to him on Howard Stern a while back ago. He was talking about getting 100's of millions of dollars from that vitamin water deal. Don't quote me on this but he basically said that it's money but he has friends in europe who make that much money look "cute". I got no respect for that. Hundreds of millions of dollars and you are worried about getting more? Something is wrong with you.

I've also heard The Game talk about how he is a snitch. I think Game came out with some movie talking about that as well. All in all I like some of his music but I'm sure he is a buddy fucker, shit bird.

Here are my two fav tracks.

I use to bump this when I was in the army.

I like this one cause it gets me motivated.

RE: 50 Cent?
50 was dope. Power of the Dollar is an underground classic, and GRODT has some bangers on it as well. Who cares if he's rich now, and makes bad music now, that ain't going to stop me from listening to the music that he made that was good.

RE: 50 Cent?
I like the song Many Men with him.

“I don't want to know. -- I don't need it. -- I don't want the information that millions of people have. -- I don't want to be fed these boring facts and figures. -- Then you'll become one of the masses. -- I'd rather starve my mind a bit and have to search out nutrition in stranger places.”

RE: 50 Cent?
I will say one thing, you see the likes of Eminem, Flo-Rida, Prof. Green etc. making songs that the crowd want right now, pop beats with gay lyrics. However, 50 Cent has stayed more like 50 Cent pretty much throughout. He touched on his "pimp" side a few times but mainly just released pretty bad but listenable songs. Even in The Massacre, he had songs I'm Supposed to Die Tonight and Position of Power which are both worth a listen for great beats and 50's flawless flow.
Now take his newest song...don't get me wrong, its terrible but its kinda weird and not TOO generic.

But then he has still songs like this coming out which is classic 50

RE: 50 Cent?
50 Cent does drop some gems sometimes. For instance, "You can tell alot about a man by his bitch". For generations to come the elders will be passing down the messages of this wise man.
