When people say "Intellectual" rapper, they're talking about the content of the rap. Biggie and GZA both spoke from perspectives that told you something about the conditions of the world, and it's up to listener to put that into perspective and ask "why" and "how" these things come about, rather than simply "what" the rapper is talking about. Intellectual rappers on the other hand tend to approach their style in a way that implies and suggests the "how" and "why" of their subject (some of them will outright tell you, but the best of them show you). Just because a rapper doesn't rap from an intellectual stand point, doesn't mean that rapper is not lyrically genius or a genius of the art itself.
