RE: Whats the best music production software?
Well this what I used to do; get a RCA to Headphone cable (3.5mm jack), plug the RCA end in your TV, then plug the headphone end into the microphone socket on your computer. You then capture it using a programme like Cool Edit Pro or Sony Acid Pro or anything like that. Then just convert the WAV into .MP3. after you've edited it.

I used to sample films like that too because I didn't have a DVD drive on my computer.

RE: Whats the best music production software?
Yeah. But there's a sick way of doing that if you got the cash.

Happauge HD PVR. With that you can capture whatever is on your TV in HD. It has a hard drive and USB so you can transfer to your PC and open up with Sony Vegas Studio. If you just want gun sounds or something though, RCA - headphone cables are the way.

RE: Whats the best music production software?
The frame rate is high. Probably a fractional percentage smaller than the TV. You can download raw files from the Hauppague website forums and play them in Sony Vegas to see what it runs like on your comp. I did it on mine before when I was thinking of buying one and it was good quality. What you'd expect for the money. You could also use it obviously for saving any downloaded films from marketplace.

Any reason why this thread was closed? Accident?

Hmmm not sure, maybe there is a pre-existing thread very similar to this?
